Secure Input is generally enabled when you type into a password field. You can manually edit the loginwindow application in macOS using the security command. However, the system can sometimes get into a state where it thinks it is permanently in a password fields. Ive written a script that finds the offending processes, so I can decide how to handle them. Restarting Word should remove the Secure Input block. In particular, the loginwindow process is a common culprit, and stopping that automatically would immediately log me out. We recommend starting with the slowest setting, then bringing it back towards the right until you're seeing predictable behaviour.
